t13 week 7 Favorite desserts/sweets

1. hot brownie's a la mode
2. chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream all swirled together
3. coffee ice cream (This one is odd as I do not like the taste of coffee but love ice cream and the nip candies) I do love the smell of coffee though. Just cannot get past the "bitter" taste.
4. chocolate covered nuts and raisins together kinda like bridge mix minus the malted milk balls which I cannot stand.
5. chocolate covered strawberries. so yummy.
6. cheesecake......any type any flavor. Although my absolute favorite is plain.
7. 7 layer bars
8. pecan pie
9. Pumpkin roll
10. Amish Friendship Bread
11. Apple pie
12. Blueberry muffins
13. Pistachio pudding pie

For those of you who really know me ...you know that all I can do of any of these at one time is about 3 to 4 bites for all with the exceptions of ice cream which is only 2 bites and the blueberry muffins...which if I leave off the crumb topping I can actually eat the whole thing. I just do not handle eating sugars well since my gastric bypass. I still enjoy them but over endulging turns the enjoyment to misery after several bites. So I have learned to stop while ahead. A painful process at times as sometimes the just one more bite cause it is so good mindset kicks in. NOt very often but occasionally. I would love a buffet table with samples of them all on it. Little bites of course. So I could actually eat it all.

Wild Adventures

There may not be as

many pictures of all the family members as they did not stay with the parents the whole time and we had the camera. We all did go to the water park together but Daddy said he did not want to take the camera in there in fear it would get wet. I did not dress Kendra...she definitely had a unique style on Day 2 at the park.

t13-week6 PET PEEVES

My 13 things that annoy me. My husband said I can come up with this really quickly. He said his name would be on every line. but seriously I guess this can be a pet peeve list.

1. shuffling feet. People who do not pick up their feet when they walk.
2. Using the word AIN'T. I am old school. Yes I know it is in the dictionary these days but I still prefer not hearing it.
3. chewing with mouth open. I call it smacking.
4. dirty laundry left on the floor
5. People who sprinkle when they tinkle but do not wipe the seat
6. wet towels left in a pile
7. talking with food in one's mouth
8. use of double negatives. My husband's name is all over this one.
9. major teasing. My husband crosses the line with this one way too often
10. asking for something then when getting it not wanting it. This is Zoe especially with food or a toy that Dani was playing with.
11. daily changing gas prices..........at least now they are headed downward
12. with military not knowing when, why, how long
13. last but not least. riding in a car without air conditioning when the temperature exceeds 98 degrees.

long list of things to do

We had a very long list of things to do including obtaining uniforms, my pre-op in Savannah, buying watches, registering the girls (again) the school made us start all over even though they had previously said all was set. I felt like we were jumping through hoops. We decided to take Adri to Chuck E Cheese too since we were up there for my pre-op. The girls are off to their first day of school today. Kendra and I started got two hours under our belt and she has decided to return to public school Daddy said YES so they took off to get her registered. Much to my chagrin. So Zoe, Dani and I read a book about manners, made a manners chart and posted it on the fridge.
Common sense things but they seem to be difficult for the little ones at times.
1. Please
2. Thank You
3. Excuse Me
4. cover mouth when a sneeze or cough happens
5. Share
6. Do not interrupt....be patient
7. Knock on closed door

simple things but with more people in the house these seem most important.

Adrienn is here too!

Adri--pronounced Audrey arrived last night. She was right on time but her luggage did not come. She is very tired but at this point does not seem as homesick as Anne. She is a bit more outgoing and seems to have drawn Anne out a bit more. Although I think time with us has helped some too.
The girls were all hungry by the time we figured out her luggage was not coming at all last night. Storms were happening in Atlanta which delayed the flights.
So the girls experienced Cracker Barrell. We figured everyone would find something they liked there and we were right. They had fun playing with the hats, bubbles, etc. after we ate. Although Kendra had an experience with a Georgia football helmet that terrified her for a moment. We almost had to buy it as it would not come off.

The girls are so sweet and everyone appears to get along great (SO FAR!)
Zoe adores Adri and you can tell she has younger siblings. They have taken to each other really well. Zoe even slept in her own bed all night! YEAH!!!!!

BUSY DAY TO HELP PUSH AWAY HOMESICKNESS

Our Dear Anne is very homesick. As I imagine anyone that is 17 and away from home and family would be. Not just away for a week but the whole school year and so far from home in a land where there native tongue is only somewhat familiar. I imagine this is how my great grandmother felt when she came to America at this age and only able to speak Swedish. I feel bad for her and am trying to help keep her time active. The girls came up with the plan of Chuck E Cheese and either the water park or the beach. Anne chose the beach and was unsure about our describing Chuck E Cheese's. I can imagine that place in her mind. Games, prizes, food........a singing rat?
So we kept her busy today. She is still a bit jet lagged and tired but seemed to enjoy the day. We still had some shoulder crying moments. But I expect those will continue for a bit and will be shared equally with Adrienn in the next few days.
